My Teaching Philosophy

We are born into a world we know nothing about, a blank canvas waiting to be shaped by the experiences, knowledge, and influences we encounter. Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí.

As an art educator, I am passionate about nurturing young minds and helping students discover their creative potential. I believe art is transformative—shaping how we see ourselves and the world around us. It is through this lens of creativity that students can explore identity, community, and the stories that shape us all.

Growing up in Ireland, a country steeped in rich artistic traditions and deep respect for storytelling, I understand the value of creativity as a means of personal and cultural expression. I strive to create a classroom that reflects this - an inclusive, dynamic space where students feel inspired to experiment, take creative risks, and appreciate the process as much as the finished piece.
Art is as much about the messy, imperfect stages as it is about the moments of clarity. Through formative feedback, collaborative projects, and cross-curricular connections, I aim to curate resilience and self-expression. I aim to empower every student to find their voice and express themselves through authentic engagement with their lived experiences
